最近凄い勢いで本を買っているな。２、３日に一冊くらい。 小説ならどって事ない数だけど専門書でこれは我ながら驚く。

むかし、教授たちの部屋とかに壁面いっぱいに本があるのをみて「これを全部読んだはずがない、飾りか？」とかちょっと思ってました、ごめんなさい、この勢いだと自分も早晩そんな感じになりそうです。

秘密はこういう事だ。どの人の本をとってみても、他の人も書いているような事しか書いていない。特に専門書だと。結局読むのはその本にしかない数ページから数十ページだけなのだ。だから読むのがどんどん速くなる。仮に全部読んでも、知っている事だから読むのは小説よりも速い。

学生の頃は書いてある事がuniqueでないとしても、何も知らないから全部読まなければならない。で、やっと私も知識の前線まで辿り着いたと言う事だ。
