ビルが崩壊して、天井が落っこちてきたときは、
テーブルや家具などを押しつぶし、
その隣には空間ができますが
その下に空間ができることはありません。
絶対にテーブルや机の下に入らないでください。
家具が大きかったり、強度があれば
その横に空間ができるのです。
この空間こそが「命の三角形」です。
そして、この空間に入り込めば、
助かる可能性が高くなります。
実際、崩壊したビルには
この「命の三角形」がたくさんあります。
地震のときは、以下の注意を守ってください。
○ほとんどの人は、地震のとき、
四つんばいになったりして
机やテーブルの下にもぐりこむが、
これでは、崩落したときには、助からない。
地震の際、すぐに外に出ることができなかったら
近くにある大きくて強固な家具
（机、テーブル、ソファ、ベッドなど）の横で、
胎児のように丸く、なるべく小さくなってうずくまること。
この体勢をとると、命の三角形の中で助かりやすい。
○夜、ベッドで寝ているときに地震が起こったら
ベッドから下りて、ベッドの横で、胎児の体勢をとること。
ベッドの横は、命の三角形ができやすい場所である。
全てのホテルのドアに、このことを明記したなら
地震の際のホテルでの生存者が飛躍的に増えるだろう。
○地震のときは、ドアから離れること。
ドアのそばにいる人は、助からない場合が多い。
○なるべく、建物の中心から遠ざかること。
外壁に近いほど、助かりやすい。
○車に乗っているときは、
崩落した道路や落下物の下敷きになることがあるので
車からは直ちに降りて
命の三角形ができる車の横で座るか横になること。
○木造家屋が実は、いちばん安全。
木は地震で動いたり、しなったりするので
崩壊しても大きな空間を作りやすいし、重さが分散される。
